The mere thoughts that reside in my mind.

The Merriam-Webster’s Colligate Dictionary defines the tern “modest” as:

1. Placing a moderate estimate on one’s abilities or worth
2. Neither bold nor self-assertive: Tending towards difference
3. Arising from or characteristic of a modest nature
4. Observing the properties of dress and behavior: Decent
5. Limited in size, amount, or scope
6. Unpretentious

Having defined that, are you modest? At least in some aspects of your life…

Do you wear revealing clothes? Do you even realize your clothes are revealing? Do others think they’re risqué?

Do you like to brag? Do you brag about your grades or marks? Do you brag about your artistic or musical abilities? Do you brag about money?

What are some other ways to be modest…

I'm proud to say that in spite of my overwhelming good looks, charm, and intellect, I am very modest.

OK ok. Actually, I am pretty modest with regard to my style of dress. Some may even say old fashioned in many respects. As far as personality goes, while I do enjoy humor a great deal and do kid around a lot, yes I'm a pretty modest fellow.

I'm modest most of the time...occasionally I'll have an ego trip, but normally I don't draw any excess attention to myself. I like to stay in the backdrop for the most part. I'm a sidedish, not the main course...How's that for a metaphor?

Have you considered.... modesty?

No. When you're as glorious as I am, why hide it?

Modest in dress, what's more modest than old faded blue jeans and t-shirts? I don't even so much as have a dirty word on the T-shirts (although I do have one that has the word "Sexy" on it, but it also has Spongebob on it, so the sarcasm seems self-evident. ;~D

Modest in action...That all depends on the situation. I believe in being humble, but I don't believe in false modesty. I know what I am good, mediocre and just plain suck at. If you ask me about something, I will answer and rate myself as honestly as possible.

In opinion, well, anyone here at JU who reads my replies know that I am opinionated to a fault. I know what I think about things and have no problem telling anyone willing to listen. However, I respect everyone else's right to do the same.
