Looking out and watching the rain
Reminds me when I bathed in pain
Blood and violence, nothing to spare
There was nothing left of me to share
I would lay in silence on the floor
Wondering where to find an open door
Looking and searching for that missing key
How did this happen to me…
Then there came an angel into my life
Who grabbed my hand and put down my knife
He made me feel beautiful, he made me see
How wonderful this girl can be
The angel that wiped away my tears
Was the same angel drove away my fears
Looking, watching the rain outside
Knowing that if he wasn’t there, I may have died
When I was left alone to cry
Wanting to take my last breath and die
That angel gave me wings to soar
He showed me who I was and so much more
So I want to thank that angel with all my heart
For being there for me from the very start
My life is no longer dim
And I am so happy today, solely because of him
This poem is dedicated to Shaun. I never was able to finish it, until today.
Every time the rain comes I get so creative. I guess the rain can act as a real inspiration.
Thank you Shaun.
